As part of the Ruby Jubilee celebrations, the Diocese of Thamarassery has launched an ambitious tree sapling distribution initiative. The programme was officially inaugurated by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and green living among the faithful.

More than 12,000 saplings are being distributed free of cost across the Diocese, which spans the districts of Kozhikode and Malappuram. The initiative is spearheaded by INFAM.

Earlier in June, also in connection with the Jubilee celebrations, Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil led a cleaning drive along the Wayanad ghat section. Waste segregation baskets have also been installed in all parishes and institutions under the Diocese to promote effective waste management practices.

Speaking at the launch, Bishop Remigiose emphasized the need to make environmental protection an integral part of life. He reminded the gathering that love for nature and trees is an expression of love for God.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Kallurutty Church and was attended by INFAM Regional Director Fr. Jose Pennaparambil, Fr. Jilson Thayyil, INFAM Program Coordinator Fr. Sai Parankulangara, and Fr. Joseph Kiliyanparambil, who all played key roles in organizing the event.
