Communication Media

Communication Media is a significant department under the Diocese of

Thamarassery. It has been established to promote Christian values and spread

the teachings of Jesus Christ through various media platforms. The department

was inaugurated on May 18, 2007, by Bishop Mar Paul Chittilappilly, the third

Bishop of the Diocese. Its mission is to foster compassion and love for the well

being of society. The current Director is Rev. Fr. Sibi Kuzhivelil, and the

Assistant Director is Rev. Fr. George Vellakkakudiyil.

Over the years, several dedicated leaders have contributed to the growth of

Communication Media. Rev. Fr. James Kuzhimattom was the first Director,

followed by Rev. Fr. Praveen Aranjaniolickal, Rev. Fr. Benny Karackattu, and

Rev. Fr. Manoj Kollamparambil, each playing a key role in its expansion. Rev.

Fr. Sudeep Kizhakkarakkattu and Fr. Jobin Thekkekaramattom also served as

Assistant Directors during different periods.

The department operates through three main sub-units:

Malabar Vision: Originally launched as Malabar Voice in 2010, it was

rebranded as Malabar Vision in 2013. This newspaper, with a circulation of

25,000 copies, serves as the voice of the Diocese, covering topics such as

agriculture, health, minority rights, local concerns, success stories, spiritual

reflections, and Vatican news. Due to the pandemic, it is currently published

bimonthly. Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil serves as the Patron. Rev. Fr.

Sibi Kuzhivelil is the Managing Director. The editorial team is led by Chief

Editor Rev. Fr. Roni Paul Kavil, with Jilson Jose as Assistant Editor and Rajin

Jose as Sub Editor and the editorial board members include Rev. Fr. Sai

Parankulangara, Rev. Fr. George Vellakkakudiyil, KF George, Prof. Charly

Kattakkayam, Jose K. Vayalil, and Abhilash Jose.

Waves Media: Founded in 2020 by Rev. Fr. Manoj Kollamparambil, Waves

Media is the Diocese’s YouTube channel focusing on visual storytelling about

the Diocese and its members. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Sibi Kuzhivelil,

it continues to produce engaging video content, including WhatsApp status

videos.

Malabar Vision Online: Launched in 2023 by Bishop Mar Remigiose

Inchananiyil, this online news portal provides live coverage of diocesan events,

daily saint reflections, Vatican news, and spiritual articles. It serves as a digital platform for showcasing the achievements and success stories of Diocese

members.

Through these initiatives, Communication Media continues to spread the

message of love, faith, and compassion, connecting and inspiring the

community.
