Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) is one of the mission ventures of the Syro Malabar Church. It was started on October 3, 1947, as a lay initiative to promote the missionary zeal among the members of the Church, especially children and youngsters. Two visionaries P. C. Abram Pallattukunnel who is popularly known as Kunjettan (Little Brother) and Rev. Fr Joseph Maliparampil formed this pious organisation. Little Flower of Lisieux is the chief patron saint of CML. Other patrons are St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Francis Xavier and St. Alphonsamma. "Your own sons, Oh India, will be the heralds of your salvation" (Filii tui India, administri tibi salutis), the words of Pope Leo XIII, are taken as the motto of CML. The official slogan is "Love, Sacrifice, Service, Suffering." In 1986, under the patronage of Mar Sebastian Mankuzhikary, the Cherupushpa Mission League was inaugurated in the diocese of Thamarassery. Later, through the strong leadership of Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy and Mar Paul Chittilappilly, the organization flourished. Today, under the guidance of Mar Remigiose Enjananiyil, the Cherupushpa Mission League stands vibrant and resilient, having secured a prominent position in the community.
