Thamarassery Diocese observed the first death anniversary of renowned Bible scholar and diocesan priest, Fr. Joseph Kappil, with a solemn memorial service held at St. Sebastian’s Church, Kodoppally, where he is laid to rest.

The commemoration was led by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, with concelebrants including Fr. Benny Mundanatt (Diocesan Finance Officer), Fr. Sebastian Kavalakkatt (Chancellor), Fr. Jose Poovannikkunnel (Parish Vicar), and Fr. Mathew Ashari Parambil. Family members of Fr. Kappil, along with parishioners and well-wishers, also joined the gathering to honor his memory.

Fr. Kappil, a distinguished Bible scholar, had on numerous occasions organized Holy Land pilgrimages, offering the faithful an opportunity to experience and connect deeply with the sacred places of Scripture.
