The annual pilgrimage of the Diocese of Thamarassery to Bharananganam was held under the leadership of Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil. This year’s event held added significance as it coincided with the Ruby Jubilee celebrations of the diocese.
The Holy Mass was celebrated at 11:30 AM, with Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil as the principal celebrant. Concelebrants included Vicar General Fr. Abraham Vayalil, Kodanchery Forane Vicar Fr. Kuriakose Iykolambil, Fr. Joseph Kalarickal (Professor, St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathoor), and Fr. Jacob Areethara (Professor, Mangalapuzha Major Seminary).
In his homily, Bishop Mar Remigiose highlighted the enduring relevance of Saint Alphonsa’s life. “In an age where hope is often lost, the life of St. Alphonsa teaches us to remain rooted in divine love and face challenges with courage,” he said.
More than 40 diocesan priests, numerous religious, and over 500 lay faithful participated in the pilgrimage. The event concluded with special prayers at the tomb of St. Alphonsa led by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil.
