As part of the Ruby Jubilee celebrations of the Diocese of Thamarassery, a special gathering was organized for retired government employees who were not part of the teaching profession. The event was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, who fondly recalled the significant contributions of retirees to the growth of the diocese. He also encouraged them to make their retired life more fruitful by taking up responsibilities in parish and forane-level activities.

Ruby Jubilee Convener Fr. John Oravunkal delivered the introductory address. Later, Fr. Kurian Puramattathil, Director of John Paul Institute, led a session on “How to Make Retired Life Joyful.” A public meeting was also inaugurated by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, with addresses by Msgr. Joyce Vayalil, Fr. Subin Kavalakkatt, Adv. George Vattukulam, Fr. Sherin Puthenpurayil, and Fr. Sai Parankulangara.

The gathering saw the participation of around 150 people from various parishes across the diocese.
