A massive Christian community rights rally organized by the Catholic Congress Thamarassery Diocese Committee, with the support of various diocesan organizations, drew tens of thousands to the streets of Kozhikode. The rally, which started from the Christian College ground and culminated in a large public gathering at Muthalakkulam Grounds (Monsignor Antony Kozhuvanal Nagar), became a symbol of Christian unity and protest against political apathy and denial of justice.
Inaugurating the rally, Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani of the Thalassery Archdiocese emphasized that the Christian community is not a "fixed deposit" for any political party and called for justice in issues like the waqf amendment. He urged the Kerala government to release the J.B. Koshy report without delay.
Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil demanded the resignation of the Forest Minister, criticizing the ministry's inaction towards farmers' issues and growing threats from wild animals. He warned that the rally serves as a strong message to forest officials.
The event also featured the official declaration of a 19-point Christian rights charter, handed over to Catholic Congress Global Secretary Rajeev Kochuparambil by diocesan director Fr. Sabin Thoommully. Several other prominent leaders addressed the gathering.
