The Institute of Food and Agricultural Ethics (IFAE), an initiative of the Diocese of Thamarassery, held the graduation ceremony of its one-year PG Diploma in Nutrition and Diet Science at the Bishop’s House, Thamarassery. The program was organized in collaboration with the Department of Botany, Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha. The event was inaugurated by IFAE President and Bishop of Thamarassery, Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil.
Established a year ago, IFAE is India’s first institution dedicated to education and research in the fields of food and agriculture. Under its initiatives, services such as the Kisan Bharat website and Kisan Line toll-free helpline have been made available. Alongside, IFAE also runs an extensive agricultural nursery near the Bishop’s House and regularly conducts awareness programs for the public.
The institute is led by Director Rev. Dr. Abraham Pulinchuvattil. Administrative Board Member Fr. Benny Punnus Mundanat, Managing Director Fr. Sai Parankulangara, Head of the Botany Department at Nirmala College Dr. Jeena George, and Course Director Dr. Manuel Thomas addressed the gathering.
The first batch, comprising 64 students from various states across India, successfully completed the course.
