The Society of Jesus has appointed Fr. Henry Pattarumadathil as the new Provincial of the Kerala Jesuit Province. He will officially assume his responsibilities by the end of June 2025.

Fr. Pattarumadathil, a respected member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, was ordained a priest in 1995 for the Kerala Jesuit Province. He holds a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University.

He has served as an Associate Professor at the Pontifical Biblical Institute and was a member of the KCBC (Kerala Catholic Bishops' Conference) team responsible for the revision of the Malayalam New Testament. Additionally, he has served as the Director of the Jesuit Regional Theology Centre in Kalady.

Fr. Pattarumadathil is also a prolific author, with numerous publications in both English and Malayalam, contributing significantly to biblical scholarship and theology.
