To introduce the newly revised Plus Two Catechism textbook developed at the Syro-Malabar Church level, the Catechism Department of the Thamarassery Diocese organized a special orientation camp titled ‘Faith Mates’. The camp was held at MST Santhome Seminary, Thamarassery, and was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil.

Catechism Director Fr. John Pallikkavayalil presided over the function. During his address, Bishop Mar Remigiose emphasized that the revised textbook, prepared using modern teaching methodologies, is designed to deeply engage students, and that teachers should serve as effective guides in this mission.

Resource persons who had participated in the national-level training camp held in Kakkanad — Sunny Kokkappillil, Sr. Gislet MSJ, Boni Anathanam, and Sony Mon — led the sessions. Sunny Kokkappillil elaborated on the textbook presentation methodology, while Boni Anathanam explained the use of symbols and colors in the new format.

Participants were then divided into groups for model classes based on the updated content and structure. A total of 120 catechism teachers from various parishes took part in the camp, gaining insights and skills to implement the new syllabus effectively.
