Eucharistic Army Members Honored with Bicycles for Completing Holy Mass Challenge

News

In a heartening initiative to foster spiritual commitment among children, the Eucharistic Army members of Koorachundu Forane Church were rewarded with bicycles for successfully completing a year-long “Holy Mass Challenge.” The challenge, which ran from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025, required participants to attend Holy Mass daily without interruption.

A total of 28 children, including a three-year-old, achieved this remarkable spiritual milestone. Following the Holy Mass on June 7, Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil presented the bicycles to the participants. The event was a proud moment for the parish, coinciding with its Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Remigiose commended the parish's efforts in nurturing faith among the young. “Everyone desires a reward for their efforts. Even the Bible speaks of divine rewards. These bicycles are a symbol of God’s recognition of the children’s sacrifice and devotion,” he remarked.

The bicycles were procured with the support of generous well-wishers under the leadership of Fr. Vincent Kandathil, Vicar of Koorachundu Forane. “More than winning a prize, the aim is to help children live for Jesus, become spiritually enriched through the Holy Mass, and grow as soldiers of the Eucharist,” Fr. Vincent explained.

The 2025 edition of the Holy Mass Challenge began on June 1 with 29 children currently participating.
