The meeting was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil. In his inaugural address, the Bishop emphasized that palliative care workers are true missionaries of compassion. He stated that palliative service is a divine mission that conveys God’s mercy and love to humanity.

Ruby Jubilee Convener Rev. Fr. John Oravunkara presided over the function. Dr. Suresh Kumar, Director of the Institute of Palliative Medicine, Kozhikode, led the training sessions. Alphonsa Palliative Diocesan Secretary Mathew Therakam presented the report. Diocesan Director Dr. Binu Kulathingal and Jose Kuzhumbil also addressed the gathering.

During the event, early pioneers in the palliative care sector were honored by the Bishop in recognition of their dedicated service.

A large number of participants from different parishes attended the diocesan meet, making the Ruby Jubilee initiative a meaningful and impactful event.

As part of the Ruby Jubilee celebrations of the Thamarassery Diocese, a special gathering of Palliative & Geriatric Care workers from various parishes was held at the Bishop’s House Auditorium.
