The 8th Kulathuvayal pilgrimage, led by Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, concluded prayerfully, renewing the faithful’s remembrance of Christ’s Passion. The night-long journey began at 10 PM from Thamarassery Mary Matha Cathedral and reached the St. George’s Shrine, Kulathuvayal by 8 AM.
Rev. Fr. Jacob Areethara, professor at Aluva Mangalapuzha Major Seminary, delivered a powerful message on the redemptive nature of Christ’s suffering. "Meditating on the wounds of Christ brings healing. The Way of the Cross draws us closer to God," he said, emphasizing that Christian life is a proclamation of faith rooted in deep spiritual experience.
Bishop Mar Remigiose led the Holy Mass, concelebrated by Vicar General Msgr. Abraham Vayalil and Koorachund Forane Vicar Fr. Vincent Kandathil.
This year’s pilgrimage held special significance as it coincided with the Jubilee Year of Hope declared by Pope Francis, the Ruby Jubilee of the Thamarassery Diocese, and the centenary of Malabar migration.
Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Subin Kavalakkatt, Finance Officer Fr. Kuriakose Mukalayil, and St. George’s Shrine rector Fr. Thomas Kalarickal also played key roles in organizing the event.
