JUDITH FORUM

Judith Forum is Lay Women association for the integral development of Christian widows and singles of Kerala. It started in the year 2016 in the diocese of Thamarassery. Gradually this association spread in many other dioceses of Kerala and known in different names such as Naomi Forum, Judith Forum, and Widows Forum etc. Hence in order to give uniformity, KCBC has officially recognized it as Lay Women association and given the name ‘Judith- Naomi Forum’ in 2020.

By receiving power and motivation from a widow, Judith, a Biblical character, whose marvelous courage and divine dependence, the Carmelite Sisters (CMC) of the Thamarassery province in collaboration with the Department of Pro-Life of the diocese of Thamarassery formed an association for the integral development of the widows and singles in the diocese. Now many other female congregations in our diocese such as SH, MSMI, MSJ, FCC, SABS, have taken initiatives to organize widows of their respective parishes in which they have their convents. The aim of this association is to give assistance for the mental, spiritual and financial growth of the widows who lost their partners in the midst of their life journey and to lite a little light in their darkened life and be a hand rest in their lives.

Now Judith forum is enhancing the widows and singles of the diocese with numerous activities for the spiritual (prayer session, Holy Mass and confession), mental (counseling and sharing), and financial (Rosary making, wreath making, broom making, small scale deposit schemes, Self-Help Groups) growth of the members.
