FATHIMA MATHA FORANE CHURCH,MARIYAPURAM

മരിയാപുരം, ദൈവം നിറക്കൂട്ട് ചാർത്തിയ കുടിയേറ്റഭൂമി. എട്ടുപതിറ്റാ ണ്ടിന്റെ ചരിത്രമുറങ്ങുന്ന മണ്ണ്. കുടിയേറ്റം ജീവിതപോരാട്ടത്തിന്റെ കനലെ രിയുന്ന കഥയാണ്. വാടിത്തളരുമ്പോഴും വിശ്വാസത്തിൻ്റെ കരളുറപ്പായി രുന്നു ആത്മബലം. കാർഷികവൃത്തിയെ ഹൃദയത്തോളം സ്നേഹിച്ച മണ്ണി ൻ്റെ മണമുള്ള കർഷകർ സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങൾ കൊയ്തെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇല്ലാ യ്‌മയുടെയും വല്ലായ്മയുടെയും നാളുകളിൽ കണ്ണീർപൂക്കൾ ഏറെ വിരി ഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും സഫലവും ധന്യവുമാണ് ഈ ഗ്രാമചരിത്രം. കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെ ഭയന്ന് ആരും തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കാതിരുന്ന മലയോരപ്രദേശങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് പൂങ്കാ വനങ്ങളാണ്. തൂമ്പ പിടിച്ചു തഴമ്പിച്ച കരങ്ങൾക്ക് പറയാൻ കഥകളോ...

1940കളിലാണ് പരിയാപുരത്ത് കുടിയേറ്റം തുടങ്ങിയത്. 1950 ആയ പ്പോഴേക്കും അൻപതോളം കുടുംബങ്ങളെത്തി. കുടിയേറ്റം വർധിച്ചതോടെ തങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മീയ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റാൻ സ്ഥലം കണ്ടത്തി പള്ളി നിർമിക്കണമെന്ന ആഗ്രഹം വിശ്വാസികളിൽ ശക്തമായി. അക്കാലത്ത് പെ രിന്തൽമണ്ണയിൽ റവന്യു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്ന ജോർജ് മുഖേന ഇവി ടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സർ ക്കാർഭൂമി നിയമപ്രകാ രം ലേലം ചെയ്തു വാ ങ്ങി പള്ളിയ്ക്കായി സ്ഥ ലം കണ്ടെത്തി. ഓരോ വീട്ടുകാരും 10 രൂപ വീ തം നൽകിയാണ് ഇതി നായി ഫണ്ട് സമാഹരി ച്ചത്. അവിടെ നിർമിച്ച ഷെഡ്ഡിൽ തോമസ് പ ഴേപറമ്പിലച്ചൻ ദൈവ ജനത്തിനു വേണ്ടി ദിവ്യ ബലിയർപ്പിച്ചു. 1949 ഓ ഗസ്റ്റ് മാസത്തിൽ ഗോൺസാൽവോസ് അച്ചൻ പ്രഥമവികാരിയായി ചാർ ടുത്തു. ഇന്ന് പള്ളിയ്ക്കുള്ളതിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗം സ്ഥലവും സ്വന്തം പണം ചെ വഴിച്ച് വാങ്ങിയതും എൽ.പി.സ്‌കൂൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതും ബഥനി മഠം തുടങ്ങി തും ഗോൺസാൽവോസ് അച്ചനാണ്.

ഫലവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ നട്ടുവളർത്തിയ കുടിയേറ്റകർഷകർ വ്യാപകമായി ച്ചക്കറി കൃഷിയും നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. പരിയാപുരത്തെ പച്ചക്കറിപ്പെരുമ അ യൽസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽവരെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായി. 1951 ജൂലൈ 2ന് എൽ.പി.സ്‌കൂൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. ഫാത്തിമ മാതാവിൻ്റെ നാമധേയത്തിലുള്ള ദേവാലയമാ യതുകൊണ്ട് ഇടവകയുടെ പേര് മരിയാപുരം എന്നാക്കാൻ ഗോൺ സാൽവോസ് അച്ചനാണ് നിർദേശിച്ചത്. സ്‌കൂളിനും ഫാത്തിമ എന്ന് പേ രുനൽകി. കോഴിക്കോട് വെസ്റ്റ്ഹില്ലിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ബഥനി സിസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് സ്‌കൂൾ അധ്യാപകരായി എത്തി. അവർ മഠവും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. 1953 ഡിസംബർ 31ന് കുടിയേറ്റക്രൈസ്‌തവർക്കു വേണ്ടി തലശ്ശേരി രൂപത സ്ഥാപിതമായതോ ടെ മരിയാപുരം പള്ളിക്ക് സുറിയാനി റീത്തിലുള്ള വൈദികരെ ലഭിക്കാൻ തു ടങ്ങി.1954ൽ കോഴിക്കോട് മെത്രാൻ മരിയാപുരം ഇടവക തലശ്ശേരി രൂപതയ് ക്ക് കൈമാറി. തുടർന്ന് ഇവിടെ വികാരിയായി നിയമിതനായത് ഫാ. സബീ നുസ് സിഎംഐ ആയിരുന്നു. വൈകാതെ മാർ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യൻ വള്ളോപ്പിള്ളി തിരുഹൃദയ സന്യാസസഭയുടെ മലബാറിലെ ആദ്യ മഠം മരിയാപുരത്ത് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. ബഥനി സിസ്റ്റേഴ്‌സ് കോഴിക്കോട്ടേക്കു തിരിച്ചുപോയി. അബിഡി യാസച്ചന്റെ കാലത്ത് പള്ളിമുറി പണിയുകയും പള്ളിക്ക് വള്ളോപ്പിള്ളി പി താവ് തറക്കല്ലിടുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. 1960ൽ വികാരിയായ ജോഷ്വ അച്ചൻ കാ ലത്ത് പള്ളി പണിയുകയും അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറത്തു നിന്നുള്ള റോഡുകൾക്ക് കുറു കെയുള്ള തോടുകൾക്ക് കോൺക്രീറ്റ് പാലം പണിയുകയും ക്ഷീരവി കസനകേന്ദ്രം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും റോഡരുകിൽ ഇരുനില പീടികമുറി പണി യുകയും ചെയ്തു‌തു. പശുവളർത്തലും എരുമവളർത്തലും വർധിച്ച അക്കാ ലത്ത് കാർഷികമേഖല പുഷ്‌ടിപ്പെട്ടു. ക്ഷീരവികസനകേന്ദ്രത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രവർ ത്തനം സജീവമായി. 1955 ജൂലൈ 15ന് എൽ.പി.സ്‌കൂൾ യു.പി. സ്‌കൂളായി ഉയർത്തപ്പെട്ടു. 1979 ജൂൺ 2ന് സെൻ്റ് മേരീസ് ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ പ്രവർത്തനം തുടങ്ങി.

വർഷങ്ങൾ പിന്നിട്ടതോടെ കുടിയേറ്റം വർധിക്കുകയും നിലവിലുള്ള പള്ളി അപര്യാപ്‌തമാവുകയും ചെയ്‌തപ്പോൾ ജോർജ് കഴുക്കച്ചാലിൽ അച്ചന്റെ കാലത്ത് പുതിയ പള്ളിയുടെ പണിയാരംഭിച്ചു. ഫാ.ഫ്രാൻസിസ് ആറുപറയിലിന്റെ കാലത്ത് പള്ളിപണി തുടരുകയും ഫാ.ജോസഫ് മാണി ക്കത്താഴെയുടെ കാലത്ത് പള്ളിപണി പൂർത്തീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 1984ൽ അഭിവന്ദ്യ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യൻ വള്ളോപ്പിള്ളി പിതാവ് ദേവാലയം കൂദാശ ചെയ്തു.

കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാരിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ ഫാ.ജോസഫ് മാമ്പുഴയുടെയും ഹെഡ്മാസ്റ്റർ പി.ഐ.സാമുവലിന്റെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ സ്റ്റേഡിയം നിർമിച്ചു.

പരിയാപുരത്തുള്ള ഗവ.ഹോമിയോ ആശുപത്രി, ഖാദിവസ്ത്രനിർമാ ണശാല, പാൽ സൊസൈറ്റി, അങ്കണവാടി, മൃഗാശുപത്രി, ബസ് വെയ്റ്റിങ് ഷെഡ്, പോസ്റ്റ് ഓഫിസ് എന്നീ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്കെല്ലാം സ്ഥലം നൽകിയത് പള്ളിയാണ്. 1990 ഫെബ്രുവരി 15ന് ഇടവകാതിർത്തിയിലുള്ള പുത്തനങ്ങാടി യിൽ സി.എഫ്.ഐ.സി. സന്യാസിസമൂഹം ഒരു ഭവനം ആരംഭിച്ചു.

1998 ജൂൺ 22ന് പരിയാപുരത്ത് ഹയർ സെക്കൻഡറി സ്‌കൂൾ ആരംഭി ച്ചു. 1999 ഏപ്രിൽ 2ന് കാർമൽഭവൻ സി.എം.സി. മഠം തുടങ്ങി. 2008ൽ സെമി ത്തേരി നവീകരിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ കല്ലറകൾ നിർമിച്ചു. 2009ൽ എൽ.പി.സ്‌കൂളിന് പുതിയ കെട്ടിടമായി രൂപതയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ 2018ൽ യു.പി.സ്‌കൂളി ന് ഒരു കെട്ടിടംകൂടി നിർമിച്ചു. പരിയാപുരം ജംക്‌ഷനിൽ ആദ്യമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന കുരിശുപള്ളിക്കു പുറമെ കിഴക്കേമുക്കിലും പുത്തനങ്ങാടിയിലും കുരിശുപ ള്ളികൾ ഉയർന്നു. ആധുനികസൗകര്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്ക് കടന്നുവ ന്നതോടെ വികസനവും ഏറെയുണ്ടായി.

പ്രദേശത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രീയനേതാക്കൾ കൊടിയുടെ നിറം നോക്കാതെ നാ ടിന്റെ നന്മയ്ക്കായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചത് മറക്കാനാകില്ല. 2013ൽ ഇടവകസമൂഹ ത്തിന് നിലനിൽപ്പിൻ്റെ പ്രശ്‌നമായി മാറിയ കുടിയിറക്കു ഭീഷണിയെ രൂപതാ ധ്യക്ഷന്റെയും വൈദികരുടെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി നേരിട്ടതും 2016 ഏപ്രിൽ 26ന് മരിയാപുരത്തു നടന്ന രൂപതാദിനാഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഉജ്വ ലവിജയവും ഓർമകളിൽ നിറയുന്നു.

2016 ജനുവരി 31ന് മരിയാപുരം ഇടവകയുടെ മനോഹാരിതയ്ക്ക് ദൈവം കയ്യൊപ്പു ചാർത്തി. പുതിയ ദേവാലയത്തിന് ശിലപാകിയ ദിനം. 2020 ജനുവരി 1ന് അതിമനോഹരമായ പുതിയ ദേവാലയം ബിഷപ് മാർ റെമീജി യോസ് ഇഞ്ചനാനിയിൽ കൂദാശചെയ്തു. ഈ നാടിൻ്റെയും ഇടവകയുടെ യും സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾക്കു ചിറകുനൽകാൻ ജീവിതമർപ്പിച്ച വികാരി ഫാ. ജേക്കബ് കൂത്തൂരിന്റെ സമർഥമായ നേതൃത്വത്തെ എത്ര അഭിനന്ദിച്ചാലും മതിയാകില്ല.

നന്മയുടെ പൂമരമായിരുന്ന ഗിൽബർട്ട് ഗോൺസാൽവോസ് അച്ചൻ മുതൽ ജെയിംസ് വാമറ്റത്തിൽ അച്ചൻ വരെയുള്ള വൈദികരുടെ സമർപ്പിത ജീവിതം ഇടവകയുടെ മുഖംമിനുക്കി. സമൂഹത്തിനായി മനസ്സർപ്പിച്ച സന്യ സ്‌തരെയും കാലം ഓർത്തുവയ്ക്കും.

പഠനത്തിലും കല, കായികം, ശാസ്ത്രം, സാമൂഹികം, സാംസ്കാരി കം തുടങ്ങിയ മേഖലകളിലും അഭിമാനകരമായ നേട്ടങ്ങൾ കൊയ്തെടുത്ത നഴ്സറി മുതൽ പ്ലസ്‌ടു വരെയുള്ള നമ്മുടെ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങൾ മികവിന്റെ പ്രകാശം പരത്തുന്നു.

പാരിഷ് കൗൺസിൽ, കുടുംബകൂട്ടായ്‌മ, സൺഡേസ്‌കൂൾ, വിൻസന്റ് ഡി പോൾ സൊസൈറ്റി, കെ.സി.വൈ.എം., എ.കെ.സി.സി., ചെറുപുഷ്‌പ മിഷൻലീഗ്, മാതൃസംഘം, യൂദിത്ത്ഫോറം, ഗായകസംഘം, അൾത്താ രസംഘം, തിരുബാലസഖ്യം, ഫാ.ഗോൺസാൽവോസ് ട്രസ്റ്റ്, പ്രാർഥനാ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഇടവകയുടെ കൂട്ടായ്‌മയ്ക്ക് കരുത്തേകുന്നു.

നമുക്ക് അഭിമാനിക്കാം, ദൈവത്തിനു നന്ദിപറയാം. മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റർ ചുറ്റളവിൽ 476 കുടുംബങ്ങളുള്ള മലപ്പുറംജില്ലയിലെ വലിയ ഇടവകയായി മരിയാപുരം മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Migration started in Pariapuram in 1940s. By 1950, there were about fifty families. With the increase in immigration, the believers wanted to find a place to build a church to fulfill their spiritual needs.Through George, who was a revenue officer in Perinthalmanna at that time, the government land here was auctioned according to the law and a place was found for the church. Funds were raised for this purpose by paying Rs.10 each from each household.In the shed built there,fr.Thomas Pazheparambil offered the divine sacrifice for God's people. In August 1949, Gonsalvos Achan took charge as the first priest. Gonsalvos father bought most of the land where the church is today with his own money, established the LP school and started the Bathani Monastery.

Migrant farmers who planted fruit trees also cultivated sugarcane widely. Pariyapuram's vegetable production has become famous even in the neighboring states. LP School was established on 2nd July 1951.Father Gonsalvos suggested that the name of the parish be Mariapuram as it is a church named after Our Lady of Fatima. The school was also named Fatima. Bathani Sisters from Kozhikode Westhill came as school teachers. They also established the convent.1953, with the establishment of Thalassery Diocese for the migrant Christians, the Mariapuram church began to receive Syriac priests. In 1954, the Bishop of Kozhikode handed over the Mariapuram parish to the Thalassery Diocese. Then priests was appointed as vicar here fr.Sabinus CMI.Soon Mar Sebastian Vallopilly established the first monastery in Malabar at Mariapuram of the sacred heart convent. Bathani Sisters went back to Kozhikode. During the time of Abidi Yasachan, the church was built and Father Vallopilly laid the foundation stone for the church.In 1960, during the time of Vicar Joshua Achan, the church was built, a concrete bridge was built for the streams across the roads from Angadipuram, a dairy development center was started and a two-storied room was built on the roadside.Agriculture flourished during that time with increased cattle breeding and buffalo rearing. The Dairy Development Center is active. On July 15, 1955, L.P. School, U.P. Raised as a school. St. Mary's High School started functioning on June 2, 1979.
As the years went by, the immigration increased and the existing church became inadequate, so the construction of a new church was started during fr.George kazhukachal's time. The church work continued during the time of Fr. Francis Aruparayil and the church work was completed during the time of Fr. Joseph ManiKattazhe.
In 1984,Mar Sebastian Vallopilly consecrated the church.The stadium was built under the leadership of Fr Joseph Mampuzha and Headmaster PI Samuel with the help of the central government.
Pariapuram Govt. Homeo Hospital, Khadi Manufacturing unit , Milk Society, Anganwadi, Veterinary Hospital, Bus Waiting Shed and Post Office were all provided by the church. CFIC on 15th February 1990 at Puthanangady in church boarder. The monastic community started a house.

The Higher Secondary School was started at Pariapuram on 22 June 1998. On April 2, 1999, Carmel Bhavan C.M.C.convent started. In 2008, the cemetery was renovated and more graves were constructed. In 2009, a new building was built for LP School with the cooperation of the Diocese and in 2018, another building was constructed for UP School.Apart from the first cross church at Pariapuram junction, cross churches came up at Kishkemuk and Putthanangadi. With all the modern facilities coming to the village, there was a lot of development.
It cannot be forgotten that the political leaders of the region worked for the good of the country regardless of the color of the flag.In 2013, the threat of immigration, which became a problem of survival for the parish community, was faced together under the leadership of the diocesan president and priests, and the bright success of the diocesan day celebration held in Mariapuram on 26 April 2016 is filled with memories.
On January 31, 2016, God gave his signature to the beauty of Mariapuram Parish. The day when the stone was laid for the new church. On January 1, 2020, the magnificent new church was consecrated by Bishop Mar Remijious Inchananiyil.
The vicar who gave his life to give wings to the dreams of this country and the parish, Fr. Jacob Couthur's efficient leadership cannot be praised enough.
From fr.Gilbert Gonsalvos, who was a flower of goodness, to fr.James vamatathil, the dedicated lives of the priests made the face of the parish.
Our schools, from Nursery to Plus Two, shine the light of excellence, with prestigious achievements in academics, arts, sports, science, social and cultural.
Parish Council, Family Association, Sunday School, Vincent de Paul Society, KCYM, AKCC, Cherupushpa Mission League, Mathru Sangham, Yudith Forum, Choir, Alta boys, Thirubala Sakhyam, Fr Gonsalvos Trust, Prayer Movements such as groups strengthen the unity of the parish.
Let us be proud and thank God. Mariapuram has become the largest parish in Malappuram district with 476 families within a radius of three kilometers.
