1944-1945 കാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ

വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നായി ഐസക്‌ മണലേല്‍,

ജോസഫ്‌ ചോംപ്ലാനിക്കല്‍, ജോസഫ്‌ തുണ്ടത്തില്‍,

മത്തായി തുണ്ടത്തില്‍, മത്തായി കരിമ്പിച്ചയില്‍,

ജോണ്‍ മാരിയില്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ആദ്യമായി കോഴിക്കോട്‌

ജില്ലയിലെ വയലടയില്‍ വന്നു. 1948-1949 ല്‍ വരകു

പാറക്കല്‍ മത്തായി, വരകുപാറക്കല്‍ ജോസഫ്‌, ആല

യില്‍ ജോസഫ്‌ എന്നിവരും വന്നു ചേര്‍ന്നു. ആ

കാലത്ത്‌ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ 7 കി.മീ. നടന്നാണ്‌ വി.

കുര്‍ബാനയില്‍ സംബന്ധിക്കുവാന്‍ കൂരാച്ചുണ്ടില്‍

പോയിരുന്നത്‌.

അഭിവന്ദ്യ മാര്‍ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യന്‍ വടക്കേല്‍ പിതാ

വിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തില്‍പെട്ട വടക്കേല്‍തൊമ്മന്‍, 1949

-1950 ല്‍ പള്ളിയ്ക്ക്‌ വേണ്ടി 80 സെന്റ്‌ സ്ഥലവും

1951 ല്‍ ജോസഫ്‌ പാലക്കല്‍ 1 ഏക്കര്‍ 20 സെന്റ്‌

സ്ഥലവും പള്ളിയ്ക്ക്‌ ദാനമായി നല്‍കി. 1950 ല്‍ ഇവി

ടെയുള്ള 30 കുടുംബക്കാര്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന്‌ ദിവ്യബലി അര്‍പ്പി

ക്കുന്നതിനായി ഓല ഷെഡ്ഡ്‌ ഉണ്ടാക്കി. ബഹു. തയ്യി

ലച്ചനാണ്‌ ആദ്യമായി വയലടയില്‍ വി. കുര്‍ബാന

അര്‍പ്പിച്ചത്‌. ദേവസ്യ കോഴികൊത്തിക്കല്‍, തോമസ്‌

കൊച്ചുപറമ്പില്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ മത

ബോധന ക്ലാസ്സുകള്‍ നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.

- 1967-1968 ല്‍, ബഹു. തോമസ്‌ മുലക്കുന്നേലച്ചന്റെ

ശ്രമഫലമായി അഭിവന്ദ്യ മാര്‍ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യന്‍ വള്ളോപ്പിള്ളി പിതാവ്‌ സിമിത്തേരി അനുവദിച്ചു. 1968-1969

ല്‍ പള്ളി ഓട്‌ മേഞ്ഞ്‌ നവീകരിച്ച്‌ ആഴ്ചതോറും ദിവ്യ

ബലി അര്‍പ്പണം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ജോസഫ്‌ ചോംപ്ലാനിക്കല്‍ പള്ളിയുടെ ശുധ്രൂഷാ

കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ സഹായിച്ചു. അക്കാലത്ത്‌ വയലടയെ

_തലയാട്‌ ഇടവകയുടെ കീഴിലാക്കി. 1975 ല്‍ വയല

ടയെ വീണ്ടും കൂരാച്ചുണ്ടിന്റെ കീഴിലാക്കി. ബഹു.

മാത്യു പുള്ളോലിക്കലച്ചനും ബഹു. ജോര്‍ജ്‌ കഴിക്ക

ച്ചാലിലച്ചനും ഇവിടെ വന്ന്‌ ആത്മീയ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കു നേതൃത്വം നൽകി. 1978 ല്‍ 270 സെന്റ്‌ സ്ഥലം പള്ളി വാങ്ങി.

1980 ല്‍ വയലടയെ വീണ്ടും തലയാടിന്റെ കീഴിലാക്കി.

ഫാ.സിറിയക്‌ ചെമ്മാഴത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ വിവാഹസഹായം, വീട്‌ വെക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള സഹായം

എന്നിവ നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു.

ബഹു. ജോര്‍ജ്‌ കളപ്പുരയ്ക്കലച്ചന്റെ കാലത്ത്‌

3.7.1997 ല്‍ പള്ളിക്ക്‌ ശിലാസ്ഥാപനം നടത്തുകയും

ഏകദേശം 7 മാസം കൊണ്ട്‌ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ള മനോഹര

മായ ദൈവാലയം പണിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അഭി

വന്ദ്യ മാര്‍ പോള്‍ ചിറ്റിലപ്പിള്ളി പിതാവ്‌ 10.2.1998 ല്‍

ദൈവാലയം കുദാശ ചെയ്തു.

2006 ല്‍ വയലടയെ ഇടവകയാക്കുകയും ഫാ.

തോമസ്‌ കളപ്പുരക്കൽ പ്രഥമ വികാരിയാവുകയും

ചെയ്തു. 2007 ല്‍ ഫാ. ടോമി കളത്തൂര്‍ വികാരിയായി

വരികയും ഇടവക ജനത്തിന്റെ ആത്മീയ കാര്യങ്ങളും

ജനക്ഷേമകരമായ മറ്റു പല കാര്യങ്ങളും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കു

കയും ചെയ്തു. പള്ളിയുടെ സ്ഥലത്ത്‌ റബ്ബര്‍ കൃഷി

ചെയ്തു. പള്ളിയും പരിസരങ്ങളും വൃത്തിയായി

സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനും, ഇടവക ജനത്തെ ഒന്നായി

കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതിനും വളരെയധികം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു.

ഫാ. ജോസഫ്‌ പാലക്കാട്ട്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ വികാരിയായി

സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു.

Parish History

During the period 1944-1945, people began migrating from Travancore and different parts of the country to the region called Malabar, north of Kerala. Isaac Manalel, Joseph Chemplanical, Joseph Thundathil, Matthew Thundathil, Matthew Karimbeechiyil, John Mariyil were those who came first time to Vayalada, in the district of Calicut. In 1948-1949 Varakuparakkal Mathai, Varakuparakkal Joseph, Alayil Joseph also joined. During this time, believers have to walk 7 km from Vayalida to Koorachundu to attend the Mass.

Salutations to Bishop Mar Sebastian Vadakkel, a relative Thomman, who belongs to the family of the bishop, donated 80 cents of land for the church in 1950. In 1951, Joseph Palakkal also donated 1 acre 20 cents to the church. And in the year 1950, 30 families offeedr made a shed and offered holy qurbana in the shed that was set up by them for the purpose. Tayyilachan was the first to shepherd the flock of God, in Vayalada. Mass was offered by Fr. Thayyil. Catechism classes and faith formation programmes also began under the leadership of Devasya Kozhikoothikkal and Thomas Kochuparambil.

In 1967-1968, as a result of the efforts of Fr. Thomas Mulakunnel, Bishop Mar Sebastian Vallopally allowed cemetry. during the years from 1968-1969 the church's tile is grazed and renovated. Every week there was Qurbana. Joseph Chemplanical was helping as a sacristan. At that time, Vayalida was placed under the Thalayad parish. In 1975, Vayalida was put under Thalayad once again.

Fr. Mathew Pullolikal and Fr. George Kazhikkachalil also came here and offered spiritual ministry. In 1978, the church purchased 270 cents of land. In 1980, Vayalida was again brought under Thalayadu. Under the auspices of Fr. Cyriac Chemmazham, assistance for marriage and financial aid for constructing homes were provided.

During the time of Fr. George Kalappurakkal, the foundation stone of the church was laid in 1997, on July 3, the Feast of Dukhrana. In about 7 months, a beautiful and wonderful church was built, which we see at present. His Excellency bishop Mar Paul Chittilappilly consecrated the church in 1998, on February 10. In 2006, Vayalada was elevated to the status of a parish and Fr. Thomas Kalappurakkal became the first vicar. In 2007, Fr. Tommy Kalathoor became the vicar. During his tenure as vicar, the spiritual affairs of the parish people was given utmost care along with attention to many other things that are beneficial to the people. Rubber cultivation in the church land was done during his time. The church and its surroundings were clean. To keep it, the people of the parish became one. He was also very careful to carry out the spiritual activities.

Fr. Joseph Palakkattu, served the parish from 2010 to 2011. Fr. Abraham Kocheelath served the parish from 2011 to 2014. Fr. John Moolayil served the parish from 2014 to 2017. Fr. Kuriakose Thayyil served the parish from 2017 to 2018. Fr. Augustine (Sudeep) Kizhakkarakatt served the parish from 2018 to 2019. Fr. George Chemparathickal served the parish from 2020 to 2024. Fr. Mathew Mangalamadathil is serving as the parish priest at present.
