ഫാത്തിമ മാതാ പള്ളി

   മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയില്‍ തിരുരങ്ങാടി താലുക്കിൽ ഊരകം-മേല്‍മുറി അംശം ദേശം ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളുന്ന താണ്‌ ഊരകം ഫാത്തിമ മാതാ ഇടവക. 1948 ല്‍ ഉള്ളാട്ടില്‍കുളം ജോസ്‌ 300 ഏക്കര്‍ സ്ഥലംവാങ്ങി ഇവിടെ കൃഷി ആരംഭിച്ചതോടെ, ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത്‌ കുടിയേറ്റം ആരംഭിച്ചു. 1949 ല്‍ കല്ലൂര്‍ ജോസഫ്‌ കുടുംബസമേതം താമസമാക്കി. തുടര്‍ന്ന്‌ നടുതലക്കാലായില്‍, നീണ്ടൂര്‍, ചിറകണ്ടത്തില്‍ (മൂന്ന്‌ കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍), പെരുമ്പള്ളില്‍, കളത്തൂര്‍, കരിമാകുളം, കളരിക്കല്‍, കൊക്കുപ്പുഴ, പട്ടേരിപറമ്പില്‍, ഇടയാടിയില്‍ എന്നീ കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ 1953 ല്‍ ഇവിടെ താമസമാക്കി. ആദ്ധ്യാ ത്മിക ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി മലപ്പുറം ലത്തീന്‍ പള്ളിയെ കുടിയേറ്റക്കാര്‍ ആശ്രയിച്ചു. 1950 ല്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ കുടിയേറ്റം 1975 വരെ തുടര്‍ന്നു. ഈ കാലയളവില്‍ ഏകദേശം നുറോളം കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ ഇവിടെ താമസമാക്കി. 1950 ല്‍ കൊക്കുപ്പുഴ ഈപ്പച്ചന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ ബഹു. അബിഡിയാസ്‌ സി.എം.ഐ. വി. കുര്‍ബാനയര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. ചിറകണ്ടത്തില്‍ കുടുംബവും പിന്നീട്‌ കൊക്കപ്പുഴക്കാരും നല്‍കിയ സ്ഥലത്ത്‌ 1953 ല്‍ പള്ളിയ്ക്ക്‌ കുരിശു സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. ബഹു. അബിഡിയാസ്‌ സി.എം.ഐ. അച്ഛന്റെ കാലത്താണ്‌ പള്ളി പണി നടന്നത്‌. തുടര്‍ന്ന്‌, ഫാ. റെജിനാള്‍ഡ്‌ സി.എം.ഐ., ഫാ. ജോഷ്വ സി. എം.ഐ., ഫാ. അബ്രാഹം കുഴിമുള്ളോരം, ഫാ. അബ്രാഹം വെട്ടുകല്ലുങ്ങൽ, ഫാ. ജോസഫ്‌ അടിപുഴ, ഫാ. മാത്യൂ മറ്റക്കോട്ടില്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ മണിമൂളി, മരിയാപുരം, പയ്യനാട് പള്ളികളില്‍നിന്ന്‌ ഇവിടെ വന്ന്‌ കുടിയേറ്റ ജനതയുടെ വിശ്വാസജീവിതത്തിന്‌ ‘ ശക്തി പകര്‍ന്നു.

   1979 ല്‍ ബഹു. ദേവസ്യ വലിയപറമ്പിലച്ചനാണ്‌ ആദ്യത്തെ വികാരിയായി ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിരതാമസമായത്‌. രോഗങ്ങളും യാത്രാ ക്ലേശങ്ങളും കുടിയേറ്റ ജനതയെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയെങ്കിലും വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദ്രവം താരതമ്യേന ഇവിടെ കുറവായിരുന്നു. യാത്രാക്ലേശവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനുള്ള അസൗകര്യവും ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ കുടിയേറ്റത്തെ ദോഷകരമായി ബാധിച്ചു. ഊരകം ഫാത്തിമ മാതാ പള്ളിയില്‍നിന്ന്‌ മൂന്ന്‌ കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെ മലമുകളില്‍ നടുവക്കാട്‌ പ്രദേശത്താണ്‌ കൂടുതല്‍ കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നത്‌. 1986 ല്‍ ബഹു. ജോസഫ്‌ കറുകമാലിലച്ചന്‍ ക്രിസ്തുരാജന്റെ നാമധേയത്തില്‍ ഒരു കുരിശുപള്ളി അവിടെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. കാല്രകമേണ ഈ പ്രദേ ശത്തുനിന്ന്‌ ആളുകള്‍ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ സ്ഥലം വിറ്റ്‌ പോയി. ഏകദേശം നൂറു കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഈ ഇടവകയില്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ 50 കുടുംബങ്ങളാണ്‌ ഉള്ളത്‌. ഇതില്‍ 10 ൽ അധികം കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ വേങ്ങര ടൗണിൽ താമസിക്കുന്നവരാണ്‌. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഫാ. സെബാസ്റ്റ്റന്‍ ചെമ്പുകണ്ടത്തിലാണ്‌ വികാരി. ബഹു. ഫാ. തോമസ്‌ കണ്ണംപള്ളി സേവനവും ഇടവകയ്ക്ക്‌ ലഭിക്കുന്നു. 

The Oorakam Fatima Matha Parish is in the Tanaloor-Melmuri region within the Tirurangadi taluk of Malappuram district. The settlement in this area began in 1948 when Ullattilkulam Jose purchased 300 acres of land and started farming. In 1949, Kallur Joseph and his family also settled here. Following this, families from Naduthalakkalayil, Neendoor, Chirakandathil (three families), Perumpallil, Kalathoor, Karimakulam, Kalarekkal, Kokkupuzha, Patteriparambil, and Idayadithil also settled in the area by 1953. For their spiritual needs, these settlers relied on the Malappuram Latin Church. The migration, which began in 1950, continued until 1975; during this period, around a hundred families moved here.

In 1950, the respected Abidiyas CMI celebrated the Holy Mass at Kokkupuzha Eapachan’s house. In 1953, a cross was established for the church on land donated by families from Chirakandathil and Kokkupuzha. The construction of the church took place under the guidance of Abidiyas CMI. Subsequent priests, including Fr. Reginald CMI, Fr. Joshua CMI, Fr. Abraham Kuzhimulloram, Fr. Abraham Vettukallunkal, Fr. Joseph Adipuzha, and Fr. Mathew Mattakottil, visited from churches in Manimooli, Mariapuram, and Payyanad to nurture the faith life of the migrant community.

In 1979, Rev. Devassya Valiyaparambil became the first resident vicar. Despite facing hardships such as illnesses and difficult journeys, the settlers were relatively safe from wild animal disturbances. However, the challenging travel conditions and lack of educational facilities adversely affected the migration. The Naduvakadu area, located three kilometers uphill from Ourakam Fatima Matha Church, became home to more families. In 1986, Rev. Joseph Karukamaly established a chapel in this area, dedicated to Christ the King. Over time, many families from this region sold their land and left. From the original 100 families in the parish, approximately 50 families remain today, with more than ten families now living in Vengara town. Currently, Fr. Sebastian Chembukandath serves as the parish priest, with the support of Fr. Thomas Kannampally.
